Responsibilities
As the UX and Design Lead, I was responsible for crafting a cohesive, user-focused product experience that aligned with both engagement objectives and revenue goals. I partnered closely with product VPs across the Email, News, and TV & Movies product groups, along with customer stakeholders and the ad and monetization teams, to ensure the platform delivered on business needs without compromising usability across web and mobile.
A key part of my approach was a commitment to iterative design-leveraging analytics, A/B testing, and user surveys to continuously refine and evolve the product experience. This process allowed us to methodically work through the challenges of aligning user experience with ad-based monetization, testing and validating design solutions that served both user needs and commercial objectives.
Through deep cross-functional coordination, I guided the integration of high-performing ad placements, optimized content layout, and refined engagement flows-ensuring that every interaction felt natural and intuitive while supporting key revenue drivers. The result was a platform that consistently balanced design quality, user satisfaction, and business performance through a cycle of data-driven iteration.

With an integrated TV guide tailored for white-label partners—especially cable providers—users can browse live channel schedules, explore their subscription offerings, and access TV Everywhere-enabled content. A built-in search and discovery engine helps users find where to watch shows and movies, whether it's airing on cable or available via OTT platforms. By bridging the gap between linear TV and streaming, this vertical enhances the viewing experience while opening new opportunities for engagement and content monetization.
Apps
To complement the web-based portal, the Audience Engagement Platform extends to a full-featured native app suite for both iOS and Android. Designed for on-the-go engagement, these apps mirror the platform's core features—News, Entertainment, Email, and TV & Movies—within a fast, responsive, and intuitive mobile experience.
The app ecosystem also unlocks unique mobile capabilities, including push notifications for breaking news, promotions, or content recommendations, and deep linking support to launch directly into third-party streaming apps for TV and Movies content.
In addition to the all-in-one experience, a dedicated TV & Movies app was also offered, providing users with streamlined access to live TV schedules, streaming availability, and personalized watchlists—all optimized for mobile discovery and viewing.
Whether bundled as a complete suite or offered as standalone vertical apps, the mobile platform reinforces user engagement across devices, driving retention and expanding monetization opportunities through app-native advertising and notifications.
Webmail
One of the core drivers of the Audience Engagement Platform was its deep integration with Webmail—serving as the primary access point for users to reach their inboxes. Whether supporting third-party email providers or our own in-house email solution, this integration created a symbiotic relationship between daily utility and content engagement.
From a business perspective, the Webmail entry point also played a key role in platform sustainability. Since email services typically come with significant infrastructure and support costs, the engagement platform was designed to offset these costs through monetization—leveraging high-traffic moments around email access to surface display ads, video ads, promoted content, and branded partnerships.
By surrounding a must-use service (email) with a rich layer of engaging content and smart monetization, we enabled providers to not only reduce operational overhead but also turn Webmail into a revenue-generating product channel. This strategic alignment ensured that user utility, content discovery, and business growth worked hand in hand.
